Dr Jonathan Mond
I am an experienced, generalist psychologist specialising in counselling for people living in rural and remote areas. Whether you are concerned about the mental health of yourself or a loved one, are having difficulty negotiating a life or career transition, illness, are struggling with relationship issues, or simply want someone independent to talk to, I am ready to listen.
While I have a good understanding of all so-called “evidence-based” treatments, I am not a fan of the view that certain treatments must be used in certain situations or with certain clients. My philosophy is that if the time is taken to develop a good relationship with the client, then various possible treatment approaches – or some combination of these – are likely to be helpful; in the absence of a good working relationship, on the other hand, no treatment approach is likely to be helpful. Put simply, I will take the time to get to know you, get to the bottom of what is troubling you and why, and figure out the best way to make things better now and in the future.
* Please note, Dr Jonathan is not taking on new bulk billing clients. Mixed billing clients are accepted - MHCP + $25 gap fee per session.
