Michel Ross

I like to work collaboratively and use a flexible therapy approach to accommodate individual differences like learning style, neurodivergence and personality. In a safe therapeutic environment, the journey of self-discovery begins and goals are achievable.

I have worked in public and private mental health settings for more than twenty years providing assessment and treatment for various disorders and problems that present in adults, children and adolescents. The disorders include, anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, trauma, eating disorders, adjustment disorders, personality disorders, somatic disorders, anger, stress and relationship problems.

When I am not working as a psychologist, I am a busy mother and grandmother with interests and hobbies (incl., self-defence and yoga) that keep me well-connected to my local community.

I very much look forward to working with you.

Michel is ready to help you improve your mental health

Counselling Experience

Early in my career, I worked in Child and Adolescent psychiatry at a large public hospital. The treatment program was for children and adolescents diagnosed with depression and associated disorders. Family sessions were part of the program.

Later, I worked in adult psychiatry with a multidisciplinary team providing assessment and treatment for a wide range of mental health disorders that present across the life span. My work also included secondary consultation and education to general practitioners and allied health for management of mental health disorders that commonly present in primary care settings.

I have extensive training in cognitive behaviour therapy, although I also draw on other evidence-based treatments such as DBT, ACT, MBCT, and IPT. I also have an interest and training in clinical hypnosis
