Penelope Weekes

While I possess expertise in diagnosing and managing a range of mental health disorders, my focus is on explaining the causes in simple terms and providing prompt relief from symptoms.

I am the niece of Dr. Claire Weekes, a pioneer in self-help approaches to a wide range of anxiety disorders in the 1960’s, and the subject of the book “The Woman Who Cracked the Anxiety Code” by Judith Hoare. She wrote several best sellers which are still available today and I am proud to continue her legacy.

I offer consultation by phone or video.

I'm here to provide you with the best possible support and I offer a wealth of knowledge and experience to help you better understand your thoughts, emotions and behaviour.

Counselling Experience

I spent 20 years in the government sector working in community mental health, gaining valuable insights into diverse mental health challenges from moderate to severe. I spent a further 20 years as a private practitioner, where I refined my approach by providing personalised and accessible psychological support.

With over 30 years of experience in mental health care, I am a clinical psychologist committed to supporting individuals on their journey to mental well-being. My academic journey includes an Honours degree in Psychology and a postgraduate degree in Clinical Psychology from The University of Sydney. I undertake professional development on a regular basis to keep up with the latest treatments.
